The theatrical release for Creed, the next film in the Rocky franchise, came out this week and fans everywhere were completely floored by the awe-inspiring transformation of Michael B Jordan for the role of Adonis Creed. Jordan plays the son of Apollo Creed, who is trained by none other than Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone)
Jordan gained a breathtaking 24 pounds of muscle for the film. He attributes his transformation to the healthy lifestyle basics of a healthy diet and plenty of exercise. He recently appeared on Good Morning America to discuss his dramatic transformation.
"I stripped down my diet completely" said Jordan. Grilled chicken, brown rice, broccoli and water made up the majority of his diet, allowing him to stay trim and affording him the protein he needed to build muscle. A demanding three-times-a-day, 10-month workout regime allowed him to build the muscle he needed for the role. The key, it seemed, was consistency. He worked out 6 days a week for the entire 10 month period. This, combined with the motivation offered to him by his personal trainer Corey Calliet helped him achieve his incredible transformation. Corey put Jordan on a strict diet consisting of 6 pre-set meals that he ate each day. Each meal was measured precisely to optimize nutrition and minimize empty calories. The basis of each meal was green vegetables, a lean protein and a healthy carbohydrate. He paired his meals with pre-workout and recovery supplements. His personalized training regime was strenuous, and worthy of a workout montage any day. It consisted of a variety of exercises including:
- Cardio
- Abs exercises
- Upper-body exercises
- Plyometrics
- Boxing training
Though Jordan’s motivation for his dramatic change came from the need to properly fill the role, his transformation has become a lifestyle change that has made him healthier and happier. To start your transformation call Paul Anthony today at 403.612.3538 and visit paulanthony.ca.
